Why eCert? Progressive Chambers of Commerce provide an indispensable suite of services to their members – facilitating global trade and championing their members’ business interests. These services include the stamping of Certificates of Origin and other supporting documents for Exporters. Exporting is a complex process, often involving up to 27 parties and over 40 documents. Current practice sees Certificates of Origin mailed or couriered to the Chamber of Commerce for certification – an inefficient, error-prone and costly paperwork driven process for Exporters. Should the Chamber return the document to the Exporter, to correct errors in the original submission, this compounds delays and costs to the Exporter. eCert presents the Next Generation solution Fortunately, the next generation technology designed, developed and refined by eCertify – the eCert Electronic Certificate of Origin – presents Exporters a more complete solution to the challenges they are facing with Global Trade. eCert allows Chambers to harness the technology that will turn the existing paper based Certificate’s of Origin process into a seamless and streamlined electronic system. There are compelling reasons why every Chamber in New Zealand, and the majority in Australia, have adopted eCert as the standard for processing Electronic Certificates of Origin. These include: • eCertify has removed the financial barriers to entry for Chambers using eCert The process • eCert Chamber caters for all submission types – allowing Exporters and Trade Service Providers to electronically process their export documents irrespective of how they are created. eCertify provides Exporters and Freight Forwarders a range of submission options to help them comply with the eCert standard adopted by the Chambers as described below: |
